We are visual creatures.
We gather information by what we see, and if it provides sufficient intrigue, we decide to further engage or disengage our senses. Design influences our every day and every choice we make. As a designer, I strive to continually push my imagination and grow creatively, technically, and intellectually.
Originally from a historical mining town in Southern Arizona, I grew up surrounded by the unusual. After the boom of the copper and turquoise industries died down, my little town became a safe haven for quirky artists and the free spirited hippie community. As a kid, I didn’t think twice about a man wearing a skirt, and instead, thought to myself, ‘hey, where can I get tutu like that!?’
With an open and artistic upbringing, my creative inclinations lead to my studies in the Film & Television Production and Visual Communications programs at the University of Arizona on a full academic scholarship. School wasn’t simply showing up to the classroom – every lesson required that I push myself beyond class hours to squeeze every last opportunity out of my coursework.
As an undergraduate, I spent three years designing for the Arizona Daily Wildcat, the campus newspaper, as well as numerous student organizations across campus, including the student run AIGA chapter. During the two and a half years in the intensive Film & Television BFA program, I worked on over twenty short film projects, created my own web docu-series while abroad, and worked on a major motion picture, Goats, starring David Duchovny and Vera Farminga.
Post-grad, I went on to work for the Sundance Film Festival, one of the most acclaimed film festivals in the world, as their Publication Production Designer, completing this year’s Sundance Film Festival Catalog and Film Guide.
I currently live in Santa Monica, California, and work in Television at the Worldwide Production Agency.
